Abstract: Vasohibin-1(VASH1),which is induced in response to angiogenic stimuli such as vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and fibroblast growth factor (FGF)-2, has recently been isolated as a novel negative feedback inhibitor of angiogenesis.Several studies have demonstrated that VASH1 plays important roles in the development of various tumors and it would potentially be a biomarker and a candidate for molecular targeted therapy for patients with cancer in the future.
