Current status and advances of radiotherapy for limited-disease small cell lung cancer

Abstract: About30% ~40% ofsmallcelllungcancer(SCLC)patientsbelongtolimiteddisease (LD).Inthesettingoflimiteddiseasesmallcelllungcancer(LDSCLC),thecombinationofthoracicradio therapy(TRT)withchemotherapyisthestandardtreatmentforLDSCLCwithimprovedsurvivalandlocalcon trol.ItisproventhatprophylacticcranialirradiationcanimprovetheprognosisofpatientswithSCLC.Radio therapyshouldjoinintheearlychemotherapyandindividualizedformulateappropriatetargetvolume.Radiation schemesofconventionalfractionationorhyperfractionationwayarerecommended.
