Abstract: Microphthalmia family of transcription factors(MiT/TFE) is very important for the regulation of cancer cell proliferation and energy metabolism. The MiT/TFE promotes the genesis and development of tumors by upregulating the expression of lysosomal genes as well as acting on the oxidative metabolism and the oxidative stress response. MiT/TFE can also regulate lysosomal signaling including the mTORC1 and Wnt/βcatenin pathways. The relationship between MiT/TFE and folliculin (FLCN) is associated with the tumorigenesis.
