Abstract: Gastrointestinal stromal tumor is one kind of the most common gastrointestinal tumors derived from the mesenchymal tissue. In most cases, it  occurs in adults, while rarely occurs in adolescents. The clinical diagnosis of pediatric GIST  can refer to the diagnosis standard of adults GIST, but it pays more attention to genetic diagnosis. The main treatment for pediatric GIST is surgery, but for advanced or unresectable patients, we can adopt  imatinib or sutent for targeted therapy according to the results of genetic testing.
