Abstract: Inflammation plays an important role in the initiation and development of tumor. Epithelialmesenchymal transition (EMT) acts as a critical molecular mechanism involved in the proliferation, invasion and metastasis of tumor. Mounting studies show that inflammation is related with EMT closely. In the inflammatory microenvironment, both cytokines and microbes take part in the regulation of EMT.

Key words: Inflammation, Neoplasm invasiveness, Neoplasm metastasis, Epithelial mesenchymal transition
